R041: Visible text-bearing elements overlapping
Text drawn partly over other text, usually a negative margin or absolute offset that assumed left-to-right and was never mirrored; stacked carousel slides and off-canvas menus are ignored.

When it fires
medium confidence
Two visible blocks of text, neither inside the other, overlap by more than 15% of the smaller one's area, so text renders on top of text. The cause is not measured; a physical offset that assumed left-to-right is the usual one.
Fix: Inspect the offset that pulls these together (negative margin / absolute position); it likely assumed an LTR layout.
What it leaves alone
Inline elements, whose boxes span wrapped lines and overlap by accident; boxes under 8px, like visually hidden labels; overlays, and anything off screen, like a closed drawer; and two blocks that cover each other almost entirely, which is how carousels stack their slides. Up to eight overlaps per page.

Run document.head.insertAdjacentHTML('beforeend', '<style>* { outline: 1px solid rgb(255 0 0 / 0.5) }</style>') in the DevTools console to outline every box, and look for outlines crossing over text. Select one of the pair and check its margin and position in the Computed pane.
